Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi Cleared of Corruption
After a long 4-year trial, Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi was just cleared of all corruption charges. "I was right to be calm because I knew fully well I had done nothing wrong," said the Prime Minister. He was accused of bribing judges in the 1980's to help his business interests. "Yeah, I had to pay these judges a lot more this time around with inflation and all," said Silvio. "That and, you know, the whole ethics thing. These judges weren't as easily bought off as I remember back in the day."
The statute of limitations were basically up for Silvio, so, apparently the whole ordeal was just a political circus. Luckily, the Prime Minister controls basically the majority of the media in Italy. Some political experts say that a President or Prime Minister should never have so much control over the media. Then, they step back and realize that our leaders are controlled by corporations anyway, so what's the difference. Silvio was also charged in the last decade (and quickly acquitted) with false accounting practices for some of his businesses and associates. So, it's no surprise that him and George Bush get along very well. Whether or not Silvio Berlusconi kills puppies in a secret hideout for eternal strength is still under investigation.
