Blue Damage to be sold to Geraldo Rivera

Blue Damage will have a new owner starting April 20th 2005. Geraldo Rivera, also known as the moustache man, will become the new host of the site indefinitely on this date. Blue Damage will then be charging $12.99 per membership. We believe it is a “reasonable fee” and people will be happy to pay it. It will also begin to feature advertisements. Nothing too intrusive of course, just a few pop-ups pointing you to seriously awesome poker sites.

When questioned about the hostile takeover, we released this official comment to the press.

“Here at Blue Damage, we have been working hard for the last few months to bring you the most unbiased and truthful information possible. Because of this solid constitution that we call around the office “the way,” we have developed quite a following in this short time frame. We have bypassed the BBC and the Drudge Report in terms of readers and page views, therefore, we need to capitalize on this as quickly as possible. I hope our readers understand. Think of all the cool internets we could buy with this money. We are really going to bank.”

  3. How are you going to charge a fee to visit the site and still add pop-ups. That seems a little backwards to me. If people are going to pay you they shouldn’t have to be annoyed by pop ups.

  4. Ted, I’m not making these decisions. It’s Geraldo, he’s too blame… and as mortimernova mentioned, I must obey the stache.

I sat down and talked with him about your idea, which is a good point. We are going to raise the price of membership to $39.99 a month so we can do away with the pop ups.

  5. Perhaps you could hold a ’stache-a-thon’ to raise money. Viewers would send in pictures of their mustache and compete as to who has the bossest stache on your internet. Then, you could actually use these pictures in the pop-up ads. It’s a complete win-win situation. Don’t steal my idea.

  6. But alas, I suppose the mac users could not partake in this contest because they can’t view pictures.
